Time to recycle festival wristbands

Fides Lapidaire, a third-year student at the Eindhoven Design Academy came up with an interesting and very relevant project. In her words, “When festival admission wristbands are attached with the help of a sealing station, a piece about 20 cm long usually ends up in the waste container and that’s really a shame, as this material can be used for all kinds of things”.

She illustrated the range of possibilities by processing the admission wristbands for the Dutch Design Week 2015 in all kinds of ways. Her combined research and art project is now exposed at our production facility in Heeze. Via this project, Fides is raising the awareness level of our clients and employees in a very visual and interesting way.

A different and much more sustainable option for the production of admission wristbands for festivals would be to use New Life yarns for weaving them. These are polyester yarns made from 100% recycled PET bottles so that the entire life cycle is completed. Read more about the possibilities of New-Life yarns here.
